We went back out on the river today and fished a different section trying to find more fish than we were on yesterday. We launched the boat at 5:00 AM and headed downstream. The first rock wall that we stopped at was loaded with fish, and we stayed there until we decided we had better get to work. We caught a total of 13 keepers and 10 that were too small. The fish were mostly small males in the 4-6 pound range, however, we did catch a nice 12 pound male and a 18 pound hen that was quickly released. Overall it was a great morning of fishing with plenty of action on the trusty rubber worm. We were back at the ramp and had the fish cleaned by 8:00 AM. We still have plenty of week day bookings available in May if you would like to get out and catch some of these line sided beauty's.

After all of the rain and the water flucuation we decided to head back out on the water and locate the fish again. We launched the boat at 6:00 AM and had it back on the trailer and the fish cleaned by 8:30 AM. It was by no means fast and furious but we found a small wad of fish that were up on the rocks and we were able to pick off 8 keepers and 6 shakers on the rubber worm. I forgot the camera today, but will try and remember it tomorrow.

On Saturday I had the pleasure of guiding Ken Wilson, president of Wilson Vineyards in Clarksburg, California. As we set off into the hills in search of a pig Ken expressed the fact that he was looking for a nice meat pig, however, his focus switched from a meat pig to a trophy in seconds as we spotted a nice group of hogs down in a canyon. We spotted a group of 10-12 pigs down in a canyon and began our decent down to get into a good shooting location. We snuck down as far as we could and got into position where we could see the pigs and their likely escape route. As the sun began to rise the pigs began moving our way, at one time we had 2 sows that were roughly 100 pounds in front of us at less than 80 yards, but Ken had his eye on one of the bigger pigs in the group. The other pigs finally moved our way and Ken smoked the smaller of the 2 boars, which was a true giant tipping the scales at 300 pounds with 2.5 inch cutters. The pig was a great specimen of a true trophy, scarred from head to tail and his ears were ripped to shreds. All in all it was a great hunt, and we ended the morning haveing seen over 40 pigs by 7:30 AM. This was Ken's first big game animal and he did a great job on this hunt. Thanks again Ken, it was a pleasure hunting with you!

I really do agree with the old adage about a photo being worth 1,000 words! However when I receive a client testimonial to back a photo, it's worth becomes invaluable.

I would like to thank you and the Outdoor Adventures Crew! It was apparent from the start that you guys are true professionals. I hadn't hunted with a rifle in quite a few years and it was truly an unforgettable experience. What a great day, start to finish! It was a real pleasure hunting with my guide, Andy. What a great guy!

This was my second hunting experience with Outdoor Adventures, (Turkey Hunt 2009), and I'm sure there will be more in the future.

Today I guided Brett Nystrom from Yreka,California on a hog hunt. The morning started with plenty of action as we were on pigs right out of the gate. The first group of pigs beat us into the thick brush, so we went off in search of some more. As we crested a ridge we ran into a group of 8 pigs, they were on the move and offered no opportunity at a shot. We then traveled down into the valley suspecting there might be some pigs down by the creek. After a 20 minute search we found 1 lone boar mixed in with the cows and the stalk was on. We snuck to within 50 yards of the boar and Brett hammered him. The first shot had him stunned and it took one more well placed shot to the head to finish him off. The boar was roughly 225 pounds with one and a half inch cutters. Another successful hunt with a very happy client.

Today I had the pleasure of guiding Bob Heitman on a turkey hunt. We located a tom just before day light and got set up. The birds came down from the roost and then went silent on us. We gave it 20 minutes and they would not cooperate so I made an executive decision and we were off to try and find another likely target. After walking 500 yards to the North I gave a yelp and got a thundering response from less than 100 yards away. We quickly got in the brush and I gave another yelp. Within seconds the jake was on us and Bob put the hammer down. Although it is not the biggest turkey out there he sure gobbled like he was king. All in all it was a great hunt with a very happy hunter.

I had the pleasure of guiding Robert Ripley and Tim Craig of Yuba City, California today. We hunted hard and saw over 35 pigs, however, only 1 made the fatal mistake of stopping within Tim's comfort level and he got hammered. Tim's boar has very unique coloring and weighed about 175 pounds. The rest of the pigs that we saw stayed out about 250 yards and that was not a shot that the guys felt comfortable with, but that is how it goes some days. Both of the guys were great company and I look forward to hunting with them again.
